SCRIPTURE: Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.” And the people of Israel said to the Lord , “We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to you. Only please deliver us this day.” So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord , and he became impatient over the misery of Israel. Judges 10:14‭-‬16 ESV

We could never handle being God but it’s amazing how sometimes we act as if we know better and can be god in our lives. We may think we are all wise and can make decisions on our own. We fail to see just how much we may be controlled by the things of this world. We at times fail to see just how easy we may idolize things man-made.

For us maybe it’s social media, but for the Israelites curved man made images. Unfortunately, according to our reading the people of Israel once again fell short choosing other gods over God. All of it resulted in suffering, humiliation, misery and division from their one true love and God. Sound familiar? Sin does that everytime to each one of us, but thank God for His love!

We have an amazing Father that even after we reject Him he just can’t stand to see us separated from Him and suffering! God became impatient over their misery! God wants us to learn our lessons and repent while we still have time! In our suffering let’s remember that God cares too!

PRAYER: Dear God, you don’t enjoy watching me fall away from you and into my destruction. Help me to focus my heart on you! Thank you for your continuous pursuit after me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

REMEMBER: His arms are ready for our return even after we reject Him.
