It has been forever since I wrote a Saturday blog reflection, but guess what I am still here! I have been here celebrating marriages, visiting family and working my tail off at times. I have been here quietly with close friends doing weekly bible studies and just growing and reflecting on God’s sustaining hand! I have been challenging myself to step out in faith and looking at my fears wondering why I am still here.

Aside from my personal life, it seems this world has been absolutely upside down and yet God is still sustaining us. We are still here. What a faithful God. This may not look like what we want, but I am trusting He is working it out for our good! I have been reflecting on how just waking up in the morning and seeing or speaking to loved ones is such a blessing. Thank God they are still here!

This world will have us living in fear if we let it. I just had to remind myself today that God is our sustainer through it all. There may be fear of job security. Fear of losing loved ones. Fear of the vaccine. Fear of covid-19. Fear of not accomplishing things in certain time periods and yet God is just reminding us all that He has everything under control. In Isaiah, we hear God’s gentle but firm reminder that he will see things to the end. He is still here stating:

Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you.  “To whom would you liken Me And make Me equal and compare Me, That we would be alike?  Those who lavish gold from the purse And weigh silver on the scale Hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god; They bow down, indeed they worship it.  They lift it upon the shoulder and carry it; They set it in its place and it stands there. It does not move from its place. Though one may cry to it, it cannot answer; It cannot deliver him from his distress.  “Remember this, and be assured; Recall it to mind, you transgressors.  Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other;  I am God, and there is no one like Me,  Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’; Isaiah 46:4‭-‬10 NASB1995

God is still here!

We can not sustain ourselves, but merely be obedient and trust God to be God in our lives!

Thank God He His sustaining us all!
