SCRIPTURE: But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” And Samuel prayed to the Lord . And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them. Now then, obey their voice; only you shall solemnly warn them and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them.” He said, “These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen and to run before his chariots. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive orchards and give them to his servants. And on that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the Lord will not answer you on that day.” But the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel. And they said, “No! But there shall be a king over us, 1 Samuel 8:6‭-‬7‭, ‬9‭, ‬11, ‬18‭-‬19 ESV

Do you remember a time your father or mother warned you not to play by the stove or do something you thought was fine but wasn’t? In our childish minds, we may never have seen the possible negative outcomes or harm we could have caused to ourselves or others. However, our parents who were wiser and more experienced were able to see destruction and stop us. What an act of love right?

What a loving father we have in Jesus who foresees all unknown paths and warns his children in advance. We sometimes think God is hindering this awesome plan we have created for ourselves, but He is hindering destruction and pain desiring so much more for us. Question is, are we okay with His will? Are we ok with His no as much as His yes? Do we trust Him with our lives?

He already knows the position of our heart, so be honest with yourself. Ask the father for more Faith and receive more grace for the areas that one may not be trusting Him in.

Let’s yield! Let’s rejoice in His will! Let’s not be like the Israelites insisting on their own will. They rejected God and God’s warning  paying dearly for it, but we can choose to listen to the promoting of the Holy Spirit for guidance and direction. Let’s Yield!

PRAYER: Dear God, to say that I completely am in line with your will everyday all day would not be true. I know there are certain things you are tugging at my heart to trust you in so help me to do just that. Help me to trust your will and your plans. Forgive me when I reject you and your ways. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.

REMEMBER: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord , plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
