Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled neither let them be afraid. John 14:27  NIV

Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace. Psalm 37:37 NIV

Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. Psalm 119:165 NIV

Everyday we have a choice to be at peace and remain there or be frustrated by the things of the world. It seems the things we become angry about or frustrated with often reflect our hearts. Sometimes we lack peace when we are upset due to injustice and ungodliness, but other times could it be because people are not behaving the way we would like, control is out of our hands and our life is not going as planned? Sometimes we try to gain peace by replacing our time with God for temporary fixes that are worldly.

However, a heart not on kingdom matters is a heart focused on worldly affairs. Worldly affairs can consume us and send us on the path of depression, covetousness, anger, or never truly feeling content. God’s kingdom is concerned with righteousness, peace, and joy (Romans 14:17-19), so he wants his children to be at peace no matter the circumstance. He calls us to pursue peace and have joy in his presence. He knows that if we begin to focus on the world we lose peace and therefore tells us to seek first the kingdom of God. As a child of God, we know that God is aware of our situations and has made provision. Nothing takes him by surprise. Do you feel overwhelmed by what is happening around you? Do you feel overwhelmed by individuals? Do you feel weary in doing good? The word says he makes our enemies to be at peace with us (Prov. 16:7).  Scripture says, God will speak peace to his people (Psalms 85:8) and mark the blameless and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace (Psalms 37:37 ESV). Peace is mine and yours if we want no matter the circumstance. God has a secured future for you. Let’s be joyful for a bright future awaits us in Jesus name.

Whatever the issue, take it to Lord in prayer and leave his presence with joy and peace!

PRAYER: Dear God, you have nothing but a bright future for me because I belong to you. I come before your throne of grace in my time of need and ask that you keep my mind at perfect peace. I trust that you know best even when I do not understand. Help me to remain in your perfect peace today! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

REMEMBER: Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly.
Psalms 85:8 ESV
