Have you been walking with God and yet feel you are still missing him. You are not alone! You are not the first disciple to feel like you are lost or unaware of what is happening on a journey. You will not be the last.

In Luke 24:13-31 ( Do read), we read of the disciples reasoning and discussing about Jesus, and Jesus coming alongside them. Their eyes were restrained from knowing that He was Jesus. It is interesting that as Jesus spoke to them in detail they still did not recognize him. However, the word He spoke compelled them to beg Him to remain because Jesus stated that He would have gone further.

Our Lord Jesus is always moving further, but He does not mind being stopped when constrained. Jesus will not let those who make room for him to remain empty. He won’t let those who invite him in to be left without their invited guest. He said

“Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door  within , I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me.”

Revelation 3:20 TPT

Jesus entered their space but they were still blind to him. For us to know Jesus in new ways, we should ask him to abide with us and invite him in continuously. It is when we are most intimate and are dining together that we gain truth and revelation. It was after He took the bread, blessed it, broke it, gave it to them and they received it that they KNEW Him. This bread can be compared to His word which He will take, bless it and break it to produce a deeper KNOWING of who He is.  He will continue to break his word down for us so that our eyes will be opened to know him.

Jesus wanted them to know that he is always ready to pause for revelation! There is nothing more important than your heart being restored and you growing in the knowledge of who he is. The disciples clearly walked with Jesus, but God is always doing a new thing. We may have history with Jesus but still be blind and miss him. God does not have a problem stopping to open your eyes again to reveal truth to you. He would do it over and over again. He loves us so much. If you need confirmation, he will confirm you. If you need a reminder that you matter, he will remind you. If you need comfort, he will be your comforter. God will break bread with you and stop his journey to make sure you are not blind to what he gave access to you on the cross.

Praise God! Praise God that blindness does not have to be our forever state. We can dine with the Holy Spirit and feast on his word and wait for him to reveal himself on deeper levels. The Holy Spirit is always willing to dine, are you?

I hope you find these words uplifting.
