SCRIPTURE: When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus. John 12:9‭-‬11 ESV

Some people will see a good thing yet try everything in their power to destroy it. We can call them haters. In this case, the chief priests and Pharisees have got to be one of the biggest haters in history. They hated seeing people run to truth and the attention not on them!

As the people came to see Jesus and Lazarus, they encountered an undeniable miraculous work resulting in many believing in Jesus. Not only did Jesus speak powerful truths, but His works spoke for themselves. Lazarus was made alive! Lazarus is an amazing evidence of the power of God at work, but so are we!

When people see you, they have an opportunity to see Jesus. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 ESV Even though the work God does in you may not feel as noticeable as Lazarus being brought to life, the inward transformation and rebirth are all miraculous works! As people seek Jesus, may they encounter Him through His disciples also known as us! May we look past the haters and shine in the midst of darkness. May we not desire to steal His glory as the chief priests as well! Let’s keep the focus on Jesus. We live to glorify Him.

PRAYER: Dear God, thank you for the life you lived and for seeking after me so that I may dwell with you forever! As people see me, I pray they see you! Help me to give you all the glory as I live to glorify your name! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

REMEMBER: Christ lives through you. Glorify His name in your life!
