We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.[a] This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. 2Corthians. 4: 7 NLT

I know most people would agree that 2020 has been a year with twists and turns! If anything, this year has reminded many just how fragile the human race is and how we are certainly not in control!

Scripture describes us as fragile clay jars. We can try our best to be strong but we only fool ourselves. We are more sensitive than we think. Our bodies are breaking down daily. We can try our very best to put things in place, but truly the results are beyond us. What sustains us truly is the great power of God dwelling in us! No matter the shape or color of the jar, we are all just fragile without God sustaining us.

Life is not going to be easy! We may have chips and scratches outwardly. We will suffer and go through various sickness and struggles or see our loved ones go through them. How do we respond? Do we stay in our lows or do we rejoice still in hardship seeking something to still give God glory for? We can only endure if we truly surrender and ask God for His strength. We have to fix our eyes on what is unseen. As we rely and focus on God, we and others will see the great treasure at work. God may or may not change the whole situation, but I know for sure there will be an internal change within that testifies of God’s faithfulness, goodness, and power. There is an eternal glory that our troubles can not drown. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:17 NIV God will get the glory. His light will shine through all the cracks of our jars.

PRAYER: Lord. Thank you for sustaining my life! You are the sustainer of life itself and I give you honor and praise for keeping my family, friends, and I. Thank you even more for the internal transformation that occurs as a result of enduring through various trials. I am forever grateful! In Jesus Name I pray, Amen!

REMEMBER: He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
