Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers!  Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.  Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.  He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Psalms 37:1‭, ‬3‭-‬6 ESV

Every time one turns on the news we may see evildoers at work and wonder how they continue. Even around us, we may see those who don’t serve God obtain positions we wanted and worked so hard to receive. This can lead to being fret meaning a constant state of worry. We can also become discouraged or tempted to turn away from doing right in the eyes of God. Don’t let it!

Those who do evil always end up in destruction. It’s just a matter of time. We, Christians, have to trust in his love for us and remember that we are God’s chosen people. God has told us time and time again that he has plans to prosper us and not to harm us. Therefore, let us be constant in doing good and befriend faithfulness. Let us commit our desires, dreams, and ways to him. Let us delight in him or please him greatly by surrendering and devoting ourselves in obedience to following his commandments. He wants to give the desires of our heart, but we must make sure our heart is first aligned with his and we are truly delighted in him.

For we know that in response to our delight and trust in him, God will act! The ruler of heaven and earth said he will act on our behalf! Boldness and strength should increase with the knowledge that despite where I am now God is not through and he will not let me remain in this state forever. He will bring forth your righteousness and it will be light shining among all those operating in darkness. He sees all and NEVER forgets. He never forsakes the righteous!

PRAYER: Dear God, sometimes things don’t go the way I want, but help me to remember your timing is best. You see all and are not delayed in blessing me or helping me so I surrender myself to you and ask for strength to continue to walk in your ways.

REMEMBER: For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. Psalms 37:9 ESV
