SCRIPTURE: When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. John 6:19‭-‬21 ESV

Imagine rowing in a strong winds and giving it all you’ve got to stay afloat. The winds and waves brutally hit against you while fatigue sets in but you are still pressing forward. For some of us that depiction is life. Life sometimes hits like gusty winds and roaring waves. You’re hit from every side and you’re giving it all you’ve got to keep pushing.

How beautiful it is when Jesus steps in and takes over. In these verses, the bible says the disciples were frightened initially but recognized it was Jesus and were so glad to take Him aboard. Scripture then states immediately the boat was on the other side!

How amazing and powerful is the presence of Jesus. Jesus changed their situation and immediately brought them to safety. No more toiling in their own strength. No more self reliance. No more self preservation. Just no more working in their own strength! What a Savior!

Jesus can sit in the craziness with you or take you right out. Either way just know when He is present, everything will be just fine! Let’s take heart and watch the One whom the winds and waves obey be Savior in our lives!

PRAYER: Dear God, life has ups and downs but I know you are consistent. I thank you for your love and grace and how you preserve me in every situation! Thank you for your hand upon my life. REMINDER: And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?” Matthew 8:27 ESV
